Upon entering Esperanza Inlet we made our way to Queen Cove for the night. The Cove was well protected and had several cabins along its shore.
The next morning we made our way up Esperanza Inlet passed the community of Esperanza and into Tahsis Inlet. This route allowed us to see some beautiful country as we made our way into Nootka Sound.
Once in Nootka, we visited Friendly Cove and the historical site of Yuquot. We wandered the area, enjoyed spectacular views, visited the old church and the Nootka Lighthouse.
Our last two nights in Nootka Sound were spent tucked into a snug anchorage at the head of Ewin Inlet on Bligh Island. The island is named after Captain Bligh who was part of Captain Cook’s final expedition and is perhaps best known for being the Captain of The Bounty.
Several times while anchored in Ewin Inlet, we enjoyed watching a sea otter swim around the bay. The morning we left it was floating near us, sound asleep. We managed to slip away without waking it up.

Beautiful spots, great adventures, and amazing weather for the West coast of the island
