Back in Tenacatita

We are back in Tenacatita which is great. It is one of our favourite anchorages. It has a gorgeous sandy beach and good snorkelling in warm clear water.

Being back means that we are now heading back north. Going north means sailing to windward so we will pick our weather for the trip carefully. We want to make the trip as comfortable as possible. We’ll likely make the trip back to Banderas Bay in a couple of hops. The trip is not far but Cabo Corrientes at the southern tip of the bay is known for its challenging wind and currents. We’ll pick our weather window carefully so as to limit those challenges.

In the meantime, we’ll enjoy our time here in Tenacatita. We will miss it after we leave. We have really enjoyed the bay and the people we’ve met here.

Yesterday we dinghied over to the town of La Manzanilla on the southern shore of the bay. We enjoyed a good coffee, picked up a few groceries and had lunch at a restaurant along the town square. Also, as we walked past the crocodile preserve, we got pretty close to a crocodile that eyed us through the fence. The fence is in rough shape. It wouldn’t have offered us much protection had the croc decided to come after us.

This morning I flew the drone for the first time in a very long time. This anchorage is stunning.

  1. Ah so that is what sunshine looks like. We have had precious little of it lately although it did peek out out for a little bit yesterday. Glad you are enjoying the lovely beeches of Mexico.
