A friend emailed the other day to make sure we were okay. He pointed out that we hadn’t posted to our website or tracking page since September 5th. That’s crazy! Where has time gone?
We’re fine but we have been neglecting the site. Time has just slipped by. You will notice I did a quick post. Also, I logged in to the site and realized that I haven’t posted about our time in American Samoa so he we go…
We enjoyed American Samoa. It’s not a common stop for cruisers. It sees very few tourists. There is only one harbour and it’s a working harbouring which means it’s industrial. It wasn’t as pretty as most places we’ve been but the people were awesome and we did what we needed to do while we were there.

We went there for a couple of reasons. First, it split the trip to Tonga into two shorter parts which appealed to us. The second reason was that we needed some new hydraulic hoses for our water maker. We weren’t sure we’d be able to get them in Tonga but there is a commercial fishing fleet in American Samoa so we knew they would be available.
Because of weather we were there longer than we’d planned but that’s okay. As I mentioned, the people were awesome and we got done what we needed to do.

Hi Rob and Sharlene – Nice that you had access to the dock to do the work at the top of the mast. Was that Cambria’s first time at a dock since leaving Mexico?

Yes, it was the first time. Actually, I haven’t really missed being at a dock though it is convenient for some things.
