We’re back aboard Cambria and all is well. First thing yesterday morning, we were ferried across the harbour to the main port where Yacht Express was moored. The freighter was partially submerged when we arrived. After a brief wait, we were given our keys and boat papers and allowed to climb aboard our boats.

We were the last boat to load in Brisbane which meant we were the first boat to unload here in Ensenada. It all went smoothly. It was easy.

Cambria was in good shape. We were told that the Yacht Express crew washed the boats every other day and it showed. There was a little soot from the ship’s engines and a little salt here and there but nothing a quick wash couldn’t take care of.
After exiting the freighter we didn’t get far before the harbour police pulled alongside us in their boat and asked to come aboard. Of course, we said yes. Two officers climbed aboard, had a quick look down below, took photos of our boat papers and passports and then sent us on our way. As we continued on we noticed one of the other boats that had just unloaded was also being boarded. I have no idea what they were looking for. I imagine it’s just a routine procedure for them.
We made our way across the harbour to a slip at Cruiseport Marina. We stayed at Cruiseport two and a half years ago when we first entered Mexico. We’ll leave the boat here for a month while we head home to visit family and friends. Hopefully, the weather will warm up by the time we return. We’re finding it pretty chilly after the heat of Australia.

Good news! All is well.
