Almost Home

I’m way behind. I have so much writing to catch up on but it will have to wait for another day.

Early this morning, we rounded Cape Flattery in the Straight of Juan de Fuca. We dropped anchor in Neah Bay to get some much-needed sleep.

There is a gale warning up for the Straight today, so we’ll stay put. Hopefully the winds will subside enough for us to continue on tomorrow.

Almost home!

  1. I remember the day we left Neah Bay. I had the opportunity to start this amazing adventure with Sharlene and you. What a fantastic experience. I will never forget the feeling we had as we pulled around the corner with several whales feeding around us, and ventured out into the open Pacific.

    1. I thought about seeing those whales as we came back around the Cape. My feelings were different. I didn’t have the same amount of “nerves” this time. I’ve learned a lot about sailing since then and yet, I still have lots to learn.

  2. Hi Rob,

So where are you going to live once you get “home” and what are you going to do with your time now?

    1. That is the million dollar question. We’ll be a bit nomadic for a while—splitting our time between Shawnigan, Vancouver and the boat. We’re about to start a whole new adventure—becoming grandparents!
